Marisa Keris graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2007, where she studied painting and attended the European Honors Program in Rome, Italy. She is a second year MFA candidate in Painting at the Tyler School of Art and attended Temple University Rome in 2016. Raised in New Jersey's farmlands, she lived in Northwest Alabama for eight years, and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA. 

Marisa's art practice blends her travels and life experiences, incorporating nature and history to describe emotional experience through fundamental methods of painting. She describes awareness of place and the environments she has lived, inventing psychological narratives within each body of work. Her work has been exhibited in California, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Oregon, West Virginia, Italy and France.
